Background

The Register of Emergency and Life-saving Medicines (REALM) is a NSW Health resource that provides indicative information on the availability, quantity, and location of emergency and life-saving medicines, including antidotes and antivenoms, held across NSW Health facilities and participating affiliate sites. The REALM supports timely access to critical medicines by enabling clinicians to identify where medicines are held and access associated location and contact information.

REALM – Decision and change summary

The REALM Decision and Change Summary provides a record of change requests considered by the Clinical Excellence Commission and the Emergency and Life-saving Medicines Expert Advisory Group. The summary includes medicines endorsed for addition to the REALM, medicines removed from the REALM, change requests not endorsed, and requests currently under review.

The summary should be reviewed by NSW Health clinicians and services before submitting a new change request, particularly to determine whether a similar request has already been considered.
